Notes

A characteristic of Chinese furniture is that many pieces have hidden storage spaces.  Some can be very secretive indeed being placed behind specially designed panels.  Others are more obvious such as a recess under a shelf.  The common function is to be able to place personal or valuable items away from the inquisitive eyes of others.  This table is a classic form of coffer with hidden storage under the drawers.  The simple design of "tao huan" moulding around the drawers and lower panels combined with incense stick moulding on the legs are hallmarks of fine traditional workmanship.

Price: $4500.00
