Authentic black lacquered furniture is becoming increasingly difficult to secure.  The lacquer on this table is still very bright providing a good lustre to the item.  There is hidden storage under the drawers identifying the table as a form of coffer. The bottom apron has a central ruyi medallion symbolising good wishes among phoenix tail motifs forming longevity spirals.
