Welcome to the creations of Gosia and Barry Jackson who together run Rainchair Ceramics in southern NSW.
Gosia was born in Poland and is a graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw Poland. She has been a freelance artist since 1988 and her work is in the collection of the National Museum in Wroclaw as well as private collections around the world. Barry has B.A. in sculpture from Swinburne University in Victoria. He has had an extensive career with ceramics that has included teaching and exhibiting both in Australia and overseas.
Rainchair Ceramics has been the full-time home and studio for Barry and Gosia for over 10 years although it was established much earlier. It’s set in the beautiful forested hills of Tanja and is close to the Tathra on the NSW south coast. Calm and idyllic it’s a perfect setting for contemplative artistic creativity.
These particular works are porcelain which are hand thrown by Barry with Gosia doing the painting. Highly decorative with zoomorphic forms, the porcelain produced by Barry becomes a vessel for Gosia to express her artistic talents showing her roots in eastern European traditions.
