The striking feature of these chairs is the carved “wave” on the crest rail that flows out to the sharply upturned corner where the crest rail joins the back post. The back support has a relief carved medallion of the character “fu” meaning happiness. The apron has relief carving of leaves and vine meaning prosperity.

The chairs are tall and grand in appearance, sure to attract attention even in homes with an eclectic style. They are also generously proportioned to seat a larger person.
