Low stools with cabriole legs

Origin: Shandong province

    Early 20th century
    • elm wood
    • 335mm wide 335mm deep x 270mm high

These particular low stools display an extraordinary linear contrast. The legs are crafted from substantially larger timber to form the curves and achieve strength. The end of the feet imitates a horse hoof. The waist under the seat has an ‘opening’ which lightens the appearance of this very sturdy stool.
