Humble House and the art gallery space

Art gallery image

Humble House gallery provides a unique opportunity for visual artists to showcase their creativity in an environment of cultural and historical significance.

Opening in 1998, Humble House has specialised in the conservation and restoration of quality, authentic Chinese antique furniture.

With over 20 years experience specialising in the field of oriental antiques, our genuine antique furniture and special items of interest have been sourced and caringly restored at our purpose-built conservation workshop in China. They are then shipped exclusively to Humble House in Canberra for display and sale.

Over the years, Humble House has expanded to also offer individually crafted contemporary items including art, ceramics and designer lamps.

Humble House gallery proudly allocates its top floor to support the visual arts, with a dedicated exhibition space of approximately 150 square metres. With walls extending to over 4 metres high there is an exhilarating sense of space and atmosphere perfect for exhibiting art works. Plinths are available for works that require a stand.

After walking through the antique showroom visitors go up the stairs entering the art gallery via the museum of exceptionally rare and beautiful artifacts. Or, for those less mobile, there is a lift that opens directly to the art exhibition.
