Chromology composite by Luca SiliquiniChromology is an exhibition of oil paintings by Luca Siliquini.

Chromology has a double purpose – to display the effects that the colours of Canberra have on an Italian artist and to provide chromatic compositions that may stir the emotions of its viewers.

Luca Siliquini is an Italian artist who was born and grew up in Rome, Italy. His formal education commenced in artistic disciplines and he obtained a Diploma of Applied Art and a Diploma of Photography (analogue). He subsequently altered his direction to the anthropological field and focussed on intercultural cooperation and communication.

Early in his studies, Luca was inspired by the forms, colours and symbolism represented in Dali, Kandinsky and Chagall’s artworks and he began painting as an expression of his thoughts and emotions. His paintings are symbolic representations with bold lines and geometrical shapes. Significant importance is given to the colours and textures that are chosen to represent emotions.

Luca first found himself in Canberra for a couple of years in 2011 and returned in 2015. Chromology is a collection of his most recent creations which are inspired by the colours of Canberra and the psychological consequences of the pandemic.

You are very welcome to view Luca’s first exhibition in Australia.
