Artist Statement

‘I was not expecting to love our houseboat holiday on the Clyde River as much as I did. It’s up there with the best. Even getting stung by the jellyfish that ebb and flow with the tide of the river. I loved the night on the houseboat. The inky darkness and small lights from buoys. The stillness of the river after the noisy motor boats have gone away. Watching an entire sunset from start to finish…’

About the Artist

Artist Jennifer Baird is a professional mid-career artist, working across the mediums of painting, collage, lino and screen printing. Jennifer trained as a textile designer, reigniting a passion for screen printing through the public access Megalo Print Studios. Printing on paper, in small editions of 10, Jennifer applies ink to the seascape prints and is also exploring abstract CMYK printing. ‘I was meant to be a printmaker.. I love the sound of the squeegee pulling ink through the screen’. An Award winning artist, Jennifer has also been a Finalist in numerous Art Prizes.
