‘I often get commissions from places I’ve never been to and work off photos to express what is ‘Home’ to a client. This is one of them. I painted ‘Fairlight Beach on canvas for a special birthday present. I liked the composition so much I painted one for myself on recycled perspex from an Ikea frame that just couldn’t stand up to Baird requirements. The material allowed me to draw into the paint. The backing board of it’s new frame works to make the lines white. It’s price is the postcode of Fairlight.’
