There is nothing quite like walking through forests of tall eucalypts on a cold misty morning. As the mist hangs in the air so too does the quiet envelop me giving me the feeling that I am the only person wandering through the forest on this particular day. My breath escapes in white wisps. I am at one with the trees.
As I look at my painting I am immediately transported back to the drifts of mist rising from the grass which ultimately leads into the depths of the forest. In painting this work I hope that the viewer feels the same sense of calm and tranquillity.
