From Currarong Creek by Jennifer Baird

Artist Statement

‘We holidayed at Currarong this January, there was something about this little creek on the edge of Currarong Beach. We had spent most of 2020 at home. We weren’t sure if we would have a holiday with the constantly changing Covid situation. We also had the uncertainty of a house sale that eventually fell through. I feel like these 3 huge canvases for me, are a way of coming home.’

About the Artist

Artist Jennifer Baird is a professional mid-career artist, working across the mediums of painting, collage, lino and screen printing. Jennifer trained as a textile designer, reigniting a passion for screen printing through the public access Megalo Print Studios. Printing on paper, in small editions of 10, Jennifer applies ink to the seascape prints and is also exploring abstract CMYK printing. ‘I was meant to be a printmaker.. I love the sound of the squeegee pulling ink through the screen’. An Award winning artist, Jennifer has also been a Finalist in numerous Art Prizes.
