open source by Pia Larsen.
open source utilises letters, leftover from the creation of lingua franca, in combination with symbols and shapes to form a language of common purpose over individual advantage. A language that materialised in response to the threat of Covid-19 as people listened to science, shared knowledge and developed new ways to manage life in an upended world.
The red paper field for the collaged text is a hand-mixed colour printed by the artist.
