‘Visiting Tomakin was part of a tiny mini break we took. I soaked up as much as I could. I sat on the beach and did an enplein air, watercolour sketch. This later became the screenprint ‘Tomakin Beach 1/5’. Maybe it’s a ‘bit lost in translation’…I was literally there for about half an hour. But this print..having the courage to leave my bare marks on the paper, having the courage to turn my back on the ocean and find my road home to Canberra.’
