Anna Russell – Earth Works

Artist Statement

Anna is excited about ideas and techniques that extend possibilities in making and construction. Her interests extend from relief monoprints using stencils to mokulito, encaustic and assemblage. She has been exploring how colour seeps through layers of ink, like a continuing metaphor for truth, transparency and lived experience.

Collaborative work is a significant aspect of her arts practice. With her colleagues in Studio 29B she has made installations that are emotive expressions of the urgency of systemic change as we hurtle towards more tipping points in our earth’s climate.
