This very special exhibition is a series of aerial photographs taken by Andrew using a Phase One camera and lens mounted in his Cessna 180 aircraft flying around remote Australia. Vukosav used the whole plane as a camera body, pitching it into position for each shot and using WiFi and an iPad as a live view direct from the camera. During hundreds of hours of solo flights over remote parts of the Australian landscape, he captured more than 35,000 images, the best of which have made it into his new exhibition.
Every photograph displays elaborate detail revealing beautiful patterns of vegetation, rock formations, flowing water and animal tracks. They look almost unreal, like abstract paintings. Printed at mural size, they engulf the viewer showing the beauty and majesty of Australian landscapes.
“My two passions of aviation and photography came together to create an extraordinary series of images titled “Longitude Latitude Solitude”. A gods-eye view of our harsh, vast, volatile and majestically beautiful country.”
